Choose life. You would think that is obvious. But many of us struggle to discern what makes for life and then to choose it in our own life.

We are called to be salt of the earth people and bearers of light.

The wisdom of Jesus is foolishness by conventional wisdom.

We reflect that the call comes from the ' bottom up' and is heard by the ordinary ones in the midst of ordinary life - good news for us.

There is a lot going on in our readings and in our hearts and minds as we continue to enjoy Christmas and start a New Year.

I hope you have all had Christmases that are like Christmas movies – tinsel, goodwill, miraculous returns of prodigal family members.
